Annie the Astronaut Makes Her Big Debut at MCO!

On August 27, 2026, the Orlando International Airport (MCO) was filled with excitement as employees and guests gathered to celebrate a special milestone: Annie the Astronaut's official homecoming.

For years, Annie, MCO's beloved digital wayfinding mascot, has welcomed and guided passengers from our digital screens throughout the airport. On this memorable day, Annie was stepping out from behind the screen and into the spotlight to make her real-life debut.

As anticipation grew, crowds gathered, smiling, cheering, and snapping photos as Annie made her grand entrance. Dressed in her signature silver spacesuit, Annie danced her way through the crowd, instantly winning over everyone in attendance.

The celebration began with a lively parade featuring more than a dozen of Central Florida's most recognizable mascots, all coming together to support Annie’s homecoming.

Adding to the fun, one of MCO's beloved Paw Pilots made a special appearance, delighting guests and employees alike. Attendees also had the opportunity to take home Annie-themed giveaways, including lapel pins, special-edition patches, stickers, and custom Annie cookies. Caricature artists also created personalized keepsakes for attendees.

More than just a celebration, the event marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Annie at MCO. While she will continue to greet and guide guests, she will also make appearances at future events around the airport, creating memorable experiences and connecting with guests in an entirely new way.
