Orlando International Airport (MCO) has officially opened its first Family Zone in Terminal C: the Flybrary! This new reading space features a collection of children’s books, offering young travelers and their families a comfortable place to relax and enjoy stories together.

The Flybrary is the first of three new Family Zones set to open at MCO this year, providing welcoming spaces for families throughout the airport.

The Flybrary was inspired by an idea from the MCO Comfort Team, developed to support the airport’s commitment to community and to enhance the overall passenger experience. The space brings elements of Central Florida’s natural environment indoors, featuring tree like bookshelves, stump inspired seating, and carpeting designed to resemble local water and plant life.

The restored vintage Lake Eola swan boat is a tribute to Billy the Swan, Lake Eola, and Orlando’s iconic swan population. Billy the wan was one of the first swans imported to downtown Orlando, became well known for his bold personality and remains a memorable part of local history.

The Flybrary is a great example of how ideas can really take off at MCO. It highlights the impact of employee collaboration in creating thoughtful, family-friendly amenities that improve comfort and provide unique experiences for guests. It is also testament to how employee-driven ideas can help shape a positive environment for travelers and staff alike.

The Flybrary is located post security in Terminal C, Level 2, near Gate 240. It is open during regular operating hours, and non travelers may visit by applying for an Experience MCO Visitor Pass.
