Where Teamwork Meets the Tarmac: Terminal C FOD Walk

The MCO Safety Team partnered with JetBlue Airlines at Terminal C for a Foreign Object Debris (FOD) walk, bringing together airport employees and partners with one shared purpose: safety.

FOD is a serious issue. Debris left on ramps or near gates can create safety hazards and may damage aircraft. Even something as small as a bolt, a piece of hardware, or a zipper can cause major problems. That’s why these walks are more than just cleanups; they are a proactive way to prevent incidents that could put aircraft, crews, and passengers at risk.

During the walk, participants spread out across Terminal C’s gates and ramp areas, looking for anything out of place, including small metal pieces, loose hardware, bits of trash, and other debris. Every item collected, no matter how insignificant it may seem, is a potential hazard if not removed.

Working side by side reinforces a simple truth: safety is a team effort. FOD walks are not only about maintaining a clean airport but also about protecting aircraft, crews, passengers, and supporting each other.
