The Wheelchair Dispatcher oversees the wheelchair operation and assures wheelchair agents are directed to flights in the most efficient manner. This position assures proper information is properly communicated between clients and passengers to guarantee Wheelchair Attendants are prepared to cover each flight. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Description:
- Resolving daily operational issues
- Coordinating flight schedules with Wheelchair Attendants
- Communicating regularly with clients and employees
- Assuring all client requests are met
- Working within tight deadlines
- Filling in for Wheelchair Attendants as needed
Job Requirements:
- Be authorized to work in the United States
- Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Able to obtain an airport badge
- Work AM shifts including weekends and holidays (i.e. 3:00 AM to 11:30 AM, 4:00 AM to 12:30 PM)
- Previous experience in dispatching and/or coordinating transportation routes using two-way radios and telephone
- Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Strong Microsoft Office and Internet skills
- Able to work as part of a team and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
- Strong verbal and written communication skills using appropriate grammar, tone, and pronunciation to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Discretion and confidentiality working with private information
- Continuously sit for shift
- Occasionally lift 70 lbs.
- Occasionally push or pull 200 lbs. on an incline
- Meet company's appearance guidelines
