A heartwarming story unfolded at Orlando International Airport (MCO) as a Bags employee, Stephanie Richards, went above and beyond to assist a family in need.

She assisted the Lopez family from the gate to baggage claim, helped with their luggage, and even accompanied them to the car rental area. Recognizing the long line at the counter, Stephanie offered to take the children aside so the parent could focus on getting through the rental process.

In an extraordinary display of kindness, Stephanie sat on the floor with the three children under five, engaging them with conversation and songs. Stephanie sang songs from their favorite movie, which they really enjoyed. They enjoyed her company so much that when they were ready to leave, one of the children, who had not spoken in three years, tried to say goodbye.

This touching moment stirred profound emotions, bringing tears of joy and gratitude to the family. It was a testament to the power of human connection and the impact of a single act of kindness.

Thank you, Stephanie, “You brought us an unexpected moment of happiness and connection that we will never forget,” the Lopez Family said.

This act of kindness highlights the extraordinary impact that compassion and understanding can have, even in the busiest of places.

CEO Kevin J. Thibault presented Stephanie with the MCO Challenge Coin on June 10, 2024, recognizing her extraordinary act of kindness.
